Every year, in honor of Official Star Wars Day, May 4th, we always bring you a creative Star Wars related post. This year it’s the very cool Star Wars Shadows created by assemblage artist Red Hong Yi whose amazing work we’ve shared with you before here, here and here.
Red Hong Yi Star Wars Shadows
Hong Yi, also known by her nickname, ‘Red’, is an artist known for creating pieces using everyday, unconventional materials. A longtime fan of her work, we thought these Star Wars shadows she created – which explore the relationship between light, objects and shadows, – made for a good Official Star Wars Day post.
Using different materials such as aluminum foil, feathers, styrofoam and cut-up circuit boards, Red Hong Yi arranged them in such a manner then when light projects them onto a wall, the result is the likeness of a recognizable Star Wars character. Um, wow.
