With a Taxicab hanging from the ceiling, a new COACH Coffee Shop and Restaurant in Jakarta’s Grand Indonesia Mall aim to bring iconic New York steakhouse fare with a modern twist to the locals.
COACH Serves Up Food
In the Grand Indonesia West Mall the American brand, best known for their signature leather handbags, shoes and accessories, is trying out their first-ever concept dining experience; a coffee shop and an adjacent sit-down restaurant, both inspired by the company’s hometown, New York City.
The COACH Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop is a cute and casual fast food place that serves up pizza pies, pastries and other to-go items using an animated Coffee Cup, Miss Jo, as their mascot on their packaging and other goods.
Adjacent to the Coffee Shop, the sit down restaurant features leather-clad booths, banquets and a bar.
Decorated in a more sophisticated look than the Coffee Shop by Coach creative director Stuart Vevers in collaboration with William Sofield of Studio Sofield, the restaurant boasts menu covers and napkin cuffs made of glove-tanned leather, alongside tableware adorned with floral detailing inspired by Coach collections.
The menu features iconic New York steakhouse fare, including strip steak, lamb chops, shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, and a classic martini.
