A musical bassinet designed to help infants adjust to the post-birth acoustic and environment change by reproducing the sound of the mother’s heartbeat through drums and the vibration of the mother’s voice through sound cords.
Valsecchi 1918 Womby Cradle
The Womby, designed by Anna Valsecchi of Italy’s Valsecchi 1918, is a music therapy cradle whose central element acts as a sound box, while the rocking supports emulate a sensation of movement similar to that perceived by the fetus in the womb.

Valsecchi 1918 at the 2014 Salon del Mobile:
Valsecchi 1918 presented an extension of the ‘A più voci’ collection by different designers under the art direction of Nicola De Ponti at the 2013 Salone del Mobile. The Womby was part of this collection. A common theme running through the work of the many designers involved is an outstanding interest in wood, no longer simply seen as a material that can solve individual problems of construction, but as a symbol of a specific philosophical choice, made after reflecting on archetypes, the defence of sustainability, spontaneity and warmth. The collection comprises furniture and accessories that play on new interlocking forms as well as on the relationship between essence and colour. There is also tableware, inspired by a real love of nature, considered as the origin of uniquely perfect signs. Pieces reflecting, in every detail, the soul of a company with a 100 year long history of passionate work, with a strong attention at the theme of eco-sustainability.
