The new Virgil Abloh Alessi Kettle is a reimagining of the iconic 1985 design, ‘9093’, by Michael Graves. While he may no longer be alive, the late designer’s creative corporation, Virgil Abloh Securities, lives on and continues to produce interesting collaborations. Now his studio Alaska Alaska has teamed up with the Italian brand to offer a new interpretation of the postmodern tea kettle.

Virgil Abloh Securities is a Virgil Abloh-founded creative corporation that continues after his death of the Louis Vuitton Creative Director to maintain his approach and ethos to design as exemplified by his brands Off-White, Alaska Alaska, Canary Yellow and numerous collabs. With his wife Shannon as CEO and managing director, it exists to reimagine retail in a way to amplify the work of the late designer across art, architecture, engineering, creative direction, industrial design, fashion, film, writing, and philanthropy.

The new Alessi 3909 kettle mixes different cultural aspects: the phenomenon of basketball and its multicultural imagery, an integral part of Abloh’s personal history, with the world of design and its codified references.
