Banksy London Underground Coronavirus Art. Just yesterday elusive artist Banksy uploaded a video of himself (shown later in this post), dressed as a member of the London Underground’s cleanup crew, spraying graffiti on the interior of the public transportation where wearing face masks has been a requirement since June 15. The street artist decorated the interior of the carriage with a message meant to encourage people to wear face masks to prevent the spread and contraction of Covid-19. Sadly, London officials have already removed the artwork citing that it was in violation of TfL’s “strict anti-graffiti policy.” (more…)

Street artist Banksy has been all over the news lately – and with good reason. The enigmatic artist’s “Girl With Balloon” sold at a Sotheby’s auction for $1.4 million, more than three times the estimate and a new auction high for a work solely by the artist, according to Sotheby’s. But once the hammer went down, the piece of art began to self-destruct, being shredded by a rigged frame. (more…)

Inside Walled Off: 60 Photos of Banksy’s New Palestine Art Hotel

In stark contrast to yesterday’s hotel post, Banksy has opened a hotel of his own in Palestine and no, it’s not a joke. Walled Off is a legit art hotel complete with fully functioning ensuite facilities; artist-decorated rooms, a palatial presidential suite, scary budget rooms that look like barracks, an independently operated gallery and a museum. Operated by the local community, its meant to offer a warm welcome to everyone from all sides of the conflict and across the world. (more…)
