Rudo and Tecnico Tequilas Wrestle with Design for some fun Branding.

rudo and tecnico tequilas

Mexcor brand’s Rudo and Tecnica Tequilas pay homage to Lucha Libre – a style of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico in the beginning of the 20th century. The award-winning tequilas are fabulously branded and bottled using two main characters: Rudo (who is a brawler and a rule-breaker) and Tecnico (a noble hero of the game, known for his elaborate wrestling techniques).

Rudo and Tecnico Tequilas

Tequila’s Rudo and Tecnico branding concept is inspired by the Mexican style of professional wrestling and its rich cultural traditions which constitute an important part of the Mexican heritage. Luche Libre is wildly popular in Latino culture, drawing huge audiences across all social and economic strata, and is tightly intertwined with many facets of modern pop culture, from music and folk art to comics and urban graffiti.

Rudo Tequila

Rudo is 100% Weber Blue Agave super premium tequila produced by artisanal methods in Jalisco’ s Highlands. Carefully elaborated at the family-run distillery, Rudo offers a perfect combination of spectacular presentation and superior taste. To pay proper homage to Rudo’s character, our tequila boasts bold and unexpected flavors, a real tribute to blue agave spirit. Reposado and Anejo are aged to perfection in white oak barrels to achieve luxurious texture and silky-smooth long finish.

Traditionally Rudos are wearing red masks. Brawlers and rule-benders, they nevertheless perform a very important role of engaging the audience and setting up the mood for the game. To give Rudo his dues, our Rudo tequila is bold, robust and full of flavor.

Rudo is handcrafted at the family-owned artisanal distillery from 100% Weber Blue Agave cultivated in the volcanic nutrient rich soil of the Los Altos Mountains. The distillery employs time-honored traditional methods of tequila’s elaboration. Mature agaves are first slow baked in stone ovens for up to 3 days and then the juice from the first pressing only is allowed to slow and naturally ferment for 72 to 96 hours.

Rudo is double distilled. Rudo Reposado is aged in American oak casks previously used in bourbon production for 4 months and Anejo aged for an impressive 18 months. The spirit of Lucha is carried through the whole package including the colorful wooden tops, featuring the design of a wrestling mask, and the embossed labels that show luchadores in different stages of a fight. Tequila Rudo is marketed in the original flask-shaped bottles available in 750 ml, 375 ml and 50 ml and in a variety of gift packs.
