Nestle-owned brand Purina is doing a darn good job with their new “Puppyhood” dedicated website created by the Night Agency and featuring seriously helpful tips, links, instruction videos and everything ‘puppy’ in an effort, of course, to sell more Puppy Chow.
Puppyhood video
As part of the whole Puppyhood marketing effort, Purina broke this 3.5 minute video on May 29th which is nothing less than adorable – and quickly going viral.
Produced by BuzzFeed, as opposed to an ad agency, the video amassed nearly 400,000 views just hours after it was published. You see, BuzzFeed has teamed up with Purina to produce a series of web content (under the helm of the genius Ze Frank) for the pet food brand and some of the videos have gone viral, such as Dear Kitten. But it remains to be seen whether or not the collaboration between the popular website and Purina is actually moving product.
In this story, a young man is spontaneously moved to adopt a puppy. Upon taking him home, they learn the important things about one another. Wonderfully cast, flawlessly acted and perfectly written, this online content is some of the best I’ve seen – even the product placement feels natural.
