Tonight is the first night of Passover, the seven-day Jewish holiday that commemorates the the exodus of the Jews from slavery in Egypt.
Notes To Elijah
It is celebrated with a Seder (a ritualistic dinner) and according to tradition, during this time, our homes are graced by the presence of Elijah the prophet. The universally accepted custom is to pour him a cup of wine (the “Cup of Elijah”), open the front door of our homes and invite him in.
However, given that the world is in presently under strict quarantine orders as a result of the global Coronavirus Pandemic, people are instructed to not only stay home and cease socializing, but to keep at east 6 feet from others. So, what do we tell Elijah?
Lord knows (literally) that we don’t wish to offend the prophet, but hey… social distancing, ya know? So we wrote up a couple of notes for you to tape to your front door during your seder to give Elijah the heads up. The options here include a blank note so you can pen your own. Just print, cut out and tape it to your door.
We’re sure you can do better, so print out the blank one below, and write your own.
