Started and run by husband and wife team Brent and Diane Dempsey, the impressive selection of cards from The Retro Christmas card Company represent their love of mid-century style and kitschy Christmases of the past. The original illustrations by Diane Dempsey are an absolute treat to behold. Her work is like part Disney Animator Ralph Hulett and part Shag.

The beautifully rendered scenes of small towns, tree-trimming, vintage cars, mid-century modern architecture and furniture are sure to be displayed on a mantel as opposed to being tossed in the trash.

A refreshing alternative to expensive foil-printed cheesy cards with bad script, pre-designed photo cards, or pics of snowy owls and prancing elks, the cards from the Retro Christmas Card Company feature things like Santa snoozing in an Eames chair, a family trimming a flocked tree in their Kisel-like home and retro style type complete with sparkling highlights.

The greeting cards are varied in size and shape and sold in boxes of eight, complete with envelopes. They even have pre-printed messages inside with retro fonts and icons – a huge convenience if you’ve got a long list of Christmas card recipients.
