Watchmaker Mondaine has just introduced a new collection of watches based on the world’s most popular and timeless font, Helvetica.
Helvetica Watches by Mondaine
Originally designed in 1957 by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffman at the Haas Type Foundry near Basel, Helvetica is considered the perfectly elaborated, well balanced, logically structured and sophisticated harmonious typeface for modern printing needs. And Mondaine has created three lines of watches based on the Light, Regular and Bold cuts of Helvetica.
The Helvetica number «1» with its famous curved crossbar has been used as a model for the lugs:
Helvetica No 1 Light Watch Collection:
The watches in the Helvetica No 1 Light Collection measure 26mm and 30mm in diameter and are available with IP gold-plate or stainless steel bezels and leather or bracelet straps.
Helvetica No 1 Regular Watch Collection:
The watches in the Helvetica No 1 Regular Collection measure 33mm and 40mm in diameter and are available with stainless steel bezels and leather or bracelet straps.
Helvetica No 1 Bold Watch Collection:
The watches in the Helvetica No 1 Bold Collection measure 43mm in diameter and are available with IP black or stainless steel brushed bezels and leather or nylon straps.
