The Fly Fly leather swatter is a design icon that just happens to help you do away with annoying or invasive insects.
Fly Fly Swatter
Like the Philippe Starck designed Juicy Salif or the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, this functional fly swatter, originally designed by Tarmo Likki back in 1989, and now produced by John Bauer’s Essey, has become a status symbol for design-lovers.
An object whose design includes a careful process to ensure no compromise is made between form and function, the Fly Fly fly swatter is crafted by hand in Tampere Finland.
Its shaft, measuring 55cm (approx 21.5″), is made from sustainably harvested Finnish birch.
The 14cm (5.5″) swatter and hanging hook are made of high-quality leather that will stand the test of time (and a few fly insides).
There are other leather fly swatters out there, but not nearly as cute as these. They make great gifts for anyone who appreciates design.
