Back in 2011, I introduced you to Canstruction, a worldwide organization whose mission is to feed the hungry while shining a spotlight on the design industry.
Canstruction Competition Winners
It’s been a few years and the winners of the 2013-2014 International Canstruction Competition have just been announced, so I wanted to share them with you. Followed by ten more of the best Canstruction sculptures from the past two years.
Best Meal – May The Food Be With You: Canstruction Austin, TX (Designed and Built by Sixthriver Architects and Leap! Structures using 3,120 cans)
People’s Choice – A Race To End Hunger: Canstruction Portugal (Designed and Built by Agrupamento de Escolas de Fajões using 1,800 cans). This structure received 1,246 votes on their Facebook page to win this coveted award.
Best Use of Labels – Teach A Man To Fish: Canstruction Atlanta, GA (Designed and Built by The Preston Partnership, LLC using 3,929 cans)
Jurors’ Favorite – Duck Hunt-Aiming to Reduce Hunger!: Canstruction San Francisco (Designed and Built by Huntsman Architectural Group, Rutherford + Chekene, and GCI General Contractors using 5,695 cans)
Honorable Mention – Wishing Away Hunger: Canstruction Orange County, CA (Designed and Built by KTGY using 3,000 cans)
