In support of this exciting project and very worthy cause, the Rolls-Royce Bespoke team has prepared a very special motor car, combining numerous exclusive bespoke elements, from pink accented umbrellas, to hand-embroidered headrests featuring the Breast Cancer Care pink ribbon motif. Further enhancements include unique ‘FAB1’ treadplates and a Blushing Pink and Crème Light interior leather scheme. An uplit Spirit of Ecstasy adorns the silver satin bonnet.

Special pink leather fabrics and thread were used in the creation of this bespoke vehicle:

When I received the call from Chris Evans to support FAB1 Million, we immediately sprang into action,” said Jolyon Nash, Sales and Marketing Director. “It’s taken countless hours to create such a special car but every minute spent is absolutely worth it for such a valuable cause. We wish the project every success.

The project is set to launch on Thursday 18 April with a star-studded point to point drive in FAB1 from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

*What does a puppet have to do with this?
The Original FAB 1, and its later incarnations, is a pink six-wheeled car from Thunderbirds and its three film adaptations. The car was owned by character Lady Penelope and driven by Aloysius “Nosey” Parker.

Aston Martin Celebrates 100 Years With Special Logo, Short Film, Big Stunt and 100 Exclusive Centenary Editions.

2013 marks 100 years since the founding of Aston Martin by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin. By incorporating their new company they began 100 years of Power, Beauty and Soul. To celebrate the anniversary, they have created a new logo, a short film, a spectacular stunt in Dubai and have created 100 special sexy Centenary Editions of their V8 Vantage, DB9, Rapide and Vanquish.

The Aston Martin Centenary Logo

To mark the Centenary year and to ensure consistency of interpretation, Aston Martin has developed a visual expression in the form of the Aston Martin Centenary Logo.

The dynamic shape derived from nature’s nautilus shell, is made up of 99 points with the red 100 marking the celebration year.

The design represents the Centenary of the company in the shape of commemorative points aligned in perfect proportion around the Aston Martin logo. It is a dynamic expression of forward motion – acknowledging the past, yet with a strong and positive path to the future.

The points are symbolic not just of 100 years, but as an expression of what make the marque what it is today: the beautiful and iconic sports cars, the evolution of the brand and of course the many proud and dedicated people who have created it.

The 100 Years of Aston Martin Video
Featuring some of the most iconic cars and most important people in Aston Martin history the film shown below explores 100 years of this globally respected British marque.

The Dubai Centenary Spectacular Stunt
The Dubai Centenary Spectacular at Burj Al Arab was an event created to herald the Anniversary.

The New Vanquish, the culmination of a century of technological and engineering progress was chosen to grace the helipad of the Burj Al Arab hotel, one of the most iconic buildings in the world.

Lifted from the ground at a nearby airstrip the helicopter moved towards the hotel. A breathtaking two minutes saw the helicopter hover over the helipad as a crew scrambled to secure the Vanquish. Suddenly it was done, the helicopter lifted into the sky and we had successfully placed a car on top of the helipad of the Burj Al Arab, which sits over 1,000 ft in the air.

Exclusive Centenary Editions
Aston Martin’s Centenary Edition Vanquish has been unveiled, just one of a set of specifically created specifications which will adorn V8 Vantage, DB9, Rapide and Vanquish – with 100 exclusive examples of each being created in celebration of 100 Years of Aston Martin.

Bespoke Exterior Styling

Featuring a unique graduated paint finish, solid sterling silver Aston Martin wings badges with tailored ‘trans flux’ enamel inlay and a special Aston Martin hallmark, the exterior represents an exclusive new celebration of their 100-year history.

A Luxurious Treatment

A Centenary Edition Aston Martin is identified inside by its exclusive and luxurious treatment. Deep Soft black leather – previously featuring only in the One-77 hypercar – with contrasting silver stitching, a special silver thread embroidery of the Aston Martin wings in the head restraints and solid sterling silver sill plaques individually numbered with an Aston Martin hallmark are among the features unique to the car.

Exquisite Craftsmanship

The process of creating the unique Centenary Edition paint finish, for instance, clearly demonstrates the brand’s commitment to bespoke luxury. Adding an average of 18 hours to a paint process that can already take more than 50 hours to complete, the unique graduated finish is meticulously built by adding special ‘tinters’ to create the darker inner colour. This custom-made mixture is then applied to each panel by hand, using a special mini-jet spray gun.

Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman explained: “The team has looked closely at the individual contour lines of each of the cars to determine not only the right colours and shades, but also to create a template by which the paint changes from dark to light and where the graduated effect sits.”

Each Centenary Edition model will also be supplied with a unique presentation box containing a number of exclusive gifts to mark the first 100 years of the company. These include two glass keys, two bespoke key pouches made from leather matching the car’s interior trim, solid silver cufflinks featuring the Aston Martin script, solid silver Rollerball pen and high quality Bang & Olufsen headphones.

The gift box will also include a silver polishing cloth to help owners ensure the silver centenary wings badges and sill plaques on their car keep their lustre.

Available to order now, prices for the Centenary Edition models are obtainable on application at Aston Martin’s 146 dealers in 46 countries worldwide.

It’s Big, It’s Bad Ass And It’s Still Not Yet Ready. The $1.42 Million Bugatti 16 C Galibier.

Bugatti 16 C Galibier

We have been teased with the Bugatti 16 C Galibier sedan for over 2 years now, anxiously anticipating what is said to be the world’s most powerful four door luxury sedan.

Bugatti 16 C Galibier

Still not given the green light for production, the French automaker (yes, French was their origin, not Italy)  launched this promotional video, with the most pretentious voiceover I’ve ever heard, a month ago:

Rumored to have been ready for purchase by 2012, Bugatti head Wolfgang Durheimer was reportedly disappointed with the car’s levels of comfort and performance, forcing engineers to go back to the drawing board. Bloomberg is citing two unidentified sources who say the Galibier will actually be launched in 2013 or 2014 with a base price of approximately 1 million euros ($1.42 million USD).

The most recent photos of the Bugatti Galibier prototype:

The Galibier concept, first unveiled in 2010 at the Geneva Auto Show, is a five-door hatchback with sleek styling and incredibly luxury laden custom interior. It boasts a supercharged 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine which likely produced between 800 PS (588 kW / 789 hp) and 1,000 PS (735 kW / 986 hp).

Following the footsteps of the Veyron, the Galibier features a W16 engine displacing 8.0L. However, unlike the Veyron’s quad-turbocharger setup, the Galibier uses two-stage supercharging. The results are essentially the same, though, as the Galibier reportedly produces more than 1,000 horsepower.

Bugatti Galibier removable dashboard clock

Bugatti says the car’s exterior is inspired by the torpedo-like Type 35, while also evoking cues from the Type 57.

The Galibier is largely constructed of carbon fiber, but some body panels — such as the doors and fenders — are made of aluminum. The interior, which has room for four, makes use of similarly exotic materials, albeit of a different variety. The cabin is adorned with the highest quality wood and leather, juxtaposed with an ultramodern LCD center console.

The interior:

And of course, it comes with a watch and luggage:

Concept drawings:

Production is expected to run 1,500 units, or about five times as many as the outgoing Veyron.

Bold, Even For A Baller. The Fenice Rolls Royce Ghost Diva Has Lots Of 24k Gold.

Fenice Rolls Royce Ghost Diva

Had I named this blog If It’s Tasteful, It’s Here, I wouldn’t be able to bring you the news of the Limited Edition Rolls Royce Ghost ‘Diva’. If you thought gold packages (the gold-plated trim option on some cars) were ostentatious, they are downright subtle in comparison to these outrageously 24k gold accented versions of the Rolls Royce Ghost, courtesy of Fenice Milan.

Fenice Rolls Royce Ghost Diva

24k gold plated dash

The luxury automobiles, available in three colors, are embellished with 24k gold grills*, hoods, window trim, side mirrors, door handles, wheels and fenders on the exterior. Inside, numerous 24k gold inserts and grey oak or teak wood can be found. Various combinations for the three colors are explained (with images) in the following press release. *The 24k gold grills, hoods and fenders are available in chromed bronze for those who, you know, want to save a few bucks.

Before going on, I felt it only fair to Rolls Royce to show you an image of the Ghost as they intended it:
the press release:

Everlasting synonym of class, elegance and perfect English style, Rolls Royce has become through the years the brand of celebrities and of all major international politicians.

In 2009, to meet the market’s modern request, the renowned English manufacturer launched the Ghost model. The ‘baby’ Rolls (it is only 540 cm long) has a less formal look compared to her bigger sisters, but it doesn’t abandon the typical pride of the flagships boasted with the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’, the famous little statue on the front. Moreover its sporty character is supported by the 12V engine 570 Hp that make of her the more powerful Rolls ever built, able to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in only 4.9 seconds.

To begin with the exterior, ‘Diva’ is proposed in three elegant versions with a bi?colour livery: from the classic blue-navy, to the delicious bronze and the luxury limited edition white golden pearlescent varnishing that includes particles in 24K gold.

For the navy?blue version, the bonnet and fender are in white golden pearlescent varnishing and chromed frontal grid; while for the white version the bonnet, fender and grid are in 24K gold.

For the bronze version, instead, three combinations are available: bonnet, fender and grid in 24K gold, or bonnet and fender in white golden pearlescent varnishing and grid in 24K gold or chromed bronze grid.

custom bronze rolls royce ghost by FeniceDiva Gold Plated Rolls Royce Ghost

Inside the console design has been maintained, but a few enhancements are provided, which due to the use of fine materials, make ‘Diva’ the most exclusive car available on the market. The dashboard and the passenger compartment are in biscuit?coloured leather and wood (teak or grey oak) and include white or bronze Alcantara profiles and inserts in 24K gold, whose outlines have been hand shaped by Fenice Milano’s artisans. The wheel, redesigned starting from the original one, has the crown covered in biscuit?coloured leather and the central part in 24K gold and wood (teak or grey oak).

Below is the original, unadorned Rolls Royce Ghost driver’s side interior:

Also the seats take inspiration from the original ones, but are redesigned following ergonomic principles and realized in white combined with biscuit?coloured pure leather (alternatively a version with biscuit?coloured pure leather coupled with bronze Alcantara seats is available), and like in the original car the picnic tables and the integrated minibar with glass holders have been maintained and realized in 24K gold.

As it happens for all Fenice Milano’s project, also for ‘Diva’ the aesthetic embellishments are coupled with technical interventions, able to improve the performances of the base model. The ECU upgrade, the suspensions adjustment and the optimization of the exhaust and suction system guarantee in fact notably superior performances and even more comfort onboard.

About Fenice Milano – the company bio:

Fenice Milano is a project born in 2008 from the intuition of a young entrepreneur, who decided to invest in the development of an activity in line with the tendencies of the actual market.

Symbol of freedom and independence, the car represents nowadays a mean through which we can express our individuality. In a period in which luxury is not affected by crisis and the quality of high?end products is considered a main feature, the difference is made by personalization and by the emotions that the product is able to inspire in the person who chooses to buy it.

Strong of a thirty?years experience in the activity of modeling and realization of special components for private and racing cars, Fenice Milano enters the market of luxury cars customization today, offering its clients the chance to make of their car a concrete realization of their personal spirit. Exactly like one chooses the furnishing for their own living room, it becomes possible to make unique a car that, although already entering the market with a high level of personalization, nonetheless suffers a natural degree of alignment caused by production in series. Trusty to the concept of an automotive ‘Sartoria’ (tailor in Italian), Fenice Milano doesn’t produce cars, but true art oeuvres hand made by its expert artisans and ‘sewn’ onto the client.

An artisanal reality, where 30?years experienced professionals work closely with young specialists interested in the new technologies and where all the processes, from the technical and stylistic project to the varnishing and the plumbing, from the disassembly to the replacement of accessories and the finishing are carried out rigorously with a particular attention to details, which make the difference.

The choice to present fine materials like gold and teak, coupled with the most innovative electronic and technical instrumentation matches the request of the markets, above all of middle?eastern and Russian, that are always looking for products representing the best available on the market. All the projects are studied to offer different solutions that could anticipate the clients’ needs, making the car of their dreams even more precious thus maintaining an elegant and refined style, immediately recognizable as Made in Italy.

>After the realization of the very first project based on a Ferrari 360 Modena named ‘Su Misura F101’, Fenice Milano has projected many others to launch. Among these is the model ‘La Dolce Vita’ Fenice Milano ? a restyling of the new Fiat 500C born to answer the request of those who are looking for the maximum exclusivity and elegance in a “fashionable” car ? and ‘Diva’, a touch of Italian elegance and style able to make the original Rolls Royce Ghost a true masterpiece with an even stronger personality.

The ‘Diva’ by Fenice Milano is produced in a limited quantity (Thank God).
