We were pleasantly surprised to find that multimedia artist Wayne White is one of the contemporary artists to lend their artwork to the Fred Artist Series of jigsaw puzzles (and a great desk art) from retailer Genuine Fred.
Wayne White Puzzles and Desk Art
Genuine Fred is best known for their humorously designed, irreverent gifts for kids and adults. When puzzles gained popularity during the quarantine, they launched their Artist Series, a selection of jigsaw puzzles from independent artists. Among them are two of our contemporary favorites, Wayne White and Scott Listfield.
We’ve already shared with you the astronaut paintings of Scott Listfield, so today we’re focused on the pieces by Wayne White. Born in Chattanooga, Wayne White has worked professionally as a cartoonist, illustrator, painter, sculptor, set and puppet designer, and animator in New York and Los Angeles. His paintings of large colorful words over landscapes have become very popular in the past few years.
Suffice it to say, once we saw that his paintings, Fanfuckingtastic and Shitshow had been made into puzzles – and for only $20 and $15 respectively, we jumped on them. Finished, lacquered and framed, they would be the closest thing to affording his actual original artworks.
