The Reem Acra 2016 RTW Fall Collection from the Lebanese designer best known for her elegant bridal gowns is one of her best to date. Given her background in wedding wear, it’s no wonder that this ready-to-wear collection looks more like haute couture than off the rack. Every single piece in this large Fall Winter 2016 collection is more stunning than the next.
Reem Acra 2016 Fall Collection
This is Reem Acra at her best. Consisting of gossamer flowing fabrics, various laces and rhinestone accents, the gowns need no extra embellishment such as jewelry. Strong but feminine, in colors ranging from pastels to rich reds and blacks, the silhouettes are both flattering and sexy. Transparent bodices with strategically placed lace and beads and leg-bearing skirts make for head-turning fashion. Decorative bejeweled necklines give the illusion of wearing jewelry and the expertly detailed backs of the gowns are given as much consideration as the elegantly crafted fronts.
The handiwork and craftsmanship is as you’d expect from a bridal gown couturier- impeccably executed. Despite all the adornments, the gowns are not overwhelming or heavy, but instead are perfectly proportioned and appear light as air.
Here are several of my favorites from the collection.
