The majority of these battery operated clocks are crafted of Birch plywood from responsibly sourced forests (FSC approved) and then stained, treated with shellac and waxed to a beautiful shine. Some are mixed with acrylic for an even more modern look.

The quartz mechanism has a moving pendulum and bird which is programmed to chirp between 6am and 10pm. The little birds are mechanized, move their beaks and wings when cooing and the volume is fully adjustable. Most feature an automated shut off using a light sensor, so the little birds won’t drive you nuts in the middle of the night.
