Fordypningsrommet Fleinvær is a mono-cluster of twelve* custom built tiny houses that function inter-dependently in the Arctic Archipelago of Fleinvær, north of Norway. They are available to rent and/or are offered complimentary to Artists-In Residence.

At Fordypningsrommet Fleinvær single bed accommodations are not available because the commune requires multiple houses to have the all functions you need. Four of the tiny houses are meant for sleep, one is meant to inspire (the Tower House perched on its own column) one is a kitchen house, one is a studio house, one is a sauna on a pier, and one requires self-tidying (the others are cleaned by people brought over from the neighboring island).
The one of a kind cabins are constructed of a Kebony, an eco-friendly tropical hardwood.

In addition, there is a Kitchen house, a Studio, two houses with double beds and two houses with single beds on two floors.
With no shops, no cars and no dangerous animals, the hideaway and its lovely surroundings are dotted with wild grouse and a provide perfect view of the Aurora Borealis at night.
Open all season, the immersive experience at Fordypningsrommet Fleinvær allows for an unforgettably deep connection with the natural environment.
Artist-In-Residence Program:
With support from the Culture Department at Nordland county municipality, artists can apply for a complimentary stay. Simply write a brief letter about what you do. All they ask in return that you meet with a public audience at the end of your stay and give them a brief insight into your work. Applications are to be e-mailed to: [email protected]
The Artists in Residence are selected by a committee consisting of of musician Nora Taksdal, director Katrine Strøm, and Norwegian composer and musician CEO Håvard Lund, who founded the retreat.
Each of the twelve bespoke tiny houses on the coast of Fleinvær are available for rent by day, weekend, week or longer.

Archipelago Fleinvær lies in outer gildeskål, it takes an hour’s walk after being transported to the island via a public high-speed boat from the port of Bodø.
*Despite the fact that the website says they have nine tiny houses, We Heart reports that three more were added this past August.
