This one of a kind Fazioli Origami Showcase piano was restored and given one wild makeover for the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver. The Italian brand’s grand piano sat in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge in Vancouver for ten years prior to redesigning of its case for the hotel’s 10 year anniversary in 2020.

Originally conceived by architects McFarlane | Green | Biggar Architecture + Design (now known as omb , the owners reached out to Origami Master Joseph Wu for help with the design.
Origami is the art of paper folding. The word is Japanese, literally meaning to fold (oru) paper (kami) and the restored Fazioli piano has the appearance of the angular folds we so often see in the art form.
The instrument, white in color, is further distinguished by the elaborate three-dimensional engraving in walnut wood that affects the inside of the lid.
The piano is in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge, one of Vancouver’s premier destinations for live music in the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.
