The Christmas festivities kicked off with the lights on Montaigne Avenue in Paris as the 19th exhibition of Les Sapins De Noel Des Createurs (Designer Christmas Trees) was launched.
19th Edition Of Les Sapins De Noel Des Createurs
For the 19th edition of Les Sapins De Noel Des Createurs 36 fashion designers, artists and architects each created a unique piece of artwork representing their version of a Christmas Tree (some literal, some abstract). The pieces of art will be sold by auction to raise money to help fight cancer. Here’s a look at ALL of the participants and their creations.

A few quotes from some of the designers, at the launch event courtesy of Fashion Mag:
Jean-Claude Cathalan: The Montaigne Avenue, some even call it the fashion avenue, so it was the perfect street to receive the Designer Christmas trees, some houses on the Avenue Montaigne made a tree themselves which they directly put in their boutiques and the designers who don’t have boutiques on the Montaigne Avenue were shown here, at the Champs Elysées Theatre and at the Plaza Athénée Hotel.
Olivia Putman: It’s always a happy time in our studios, we threw together our Christmas tree and it’s a very very beautiful cause and I’m really really happy to be true to it, and to work on it every year.
Jean-Charles de Castelbajac: I play with the words because I was thinking about multiple interpretations that we can take from the idea of Christmas. So I talked about love, I talked about Christmas, I talked about Christmas bread with the idea of sharing and I talked about my eternal duality about where I spend Christmas either in Los Angeles or in Gers with my son and finally Christmas can knock out all our problems.
Didier Ludot: The little black dress takes all the allures of the Christmas trees exactly because it’s the ideal piece to wear for celebrating the end of the year, the happiness of being surrounded by all your friends, and family, it’s the ideal outfit which exudes the femininity of a woman.
Stéphane Rolland: This dress from the latest haute couture season and is the best seller from the collection, it had the biggest success so there you go it’s a dress full of promise, an image full of promise but also with a glimpse of fun.
The 19th Designer Christmas Tree Exhibition runs from Friday 28th of November to Monday 15th December 2014 at the Champs Elysées Theatre. The exhibition is available to view at the opening times of the participating fashion houses on the Montaigne Avenue and François Street in the 1st Arondissement.
The Designer Christmas trees then will be sold during auctions on Monday the 15th of December to support the Fondation Avec and the fight against cancer. The auctions will be broadcast on auction house Drouot with live bidding on the internet.
