Last night New York was abuzz with the 2017 Met Gala, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s annual ball. This year’s event honored irreverent designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons with the theme of “Art of the In-Between”, the exhibition presently on show at the Museum. Last night proved why the ball has a reputation as the world’s best red carpet fashion show. Celebs and designers pulled out all the stops and the fashionable ensembles worn by attendees were more imaginative, daring and unique as ever.
The theme, which examines the work of the famed 74-year-old Japanese fashion designer over the span of 40-some years, clearly inspired incredible fashion choices this year. By now you’ve likely seen Rihanna’s and Katy Perry’s wild outfits splashed all over the news. But there were at least 100 that deserve mention.
