2022 Met Gala. It’s All In The Details. See For Yourself.
The annual Met Gala is a fundraising event* that kicks off an enormous Costume Institution exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art each year. That’s why there’s always a fashion-related theme. This year the theme of the Gala was The Gilded Age, which was very easy to pull off when compared with past themes such as “Punk” or “Camp.” Many of the outfits were stunning examples of the era – and some, not so much. But what always impresses us are the little things not often seen. That’s why we decided to share with you some close-up photos of the 2022 Met Gala details. A look at the craftsmanship, the hair, the jewelry, the nails and the more interesting makeup from the evening.
2022 Met Gala Details
You’ve no doubt already seen photos of what the Kardashians, Jenners, Gaga and all the A-listers wore. And if you didn’t, you can find them on our Pinterest board with over 200 photos of the Gala. But did you get a good look at the hair? The jewelry? The manicures? How about some of the amazing makeup? It’s all in the Met Gala close-up pics we have for you today.
Although annually several guests never quite get the ‘theme’, this was a hard one to screw up. The Gilded Age is from the 1870s to the turn of the Century. It covers the mid- and late-Victorian era, the Belle Epoque and goes on through the Progressive era. That’s a lot of possible ensembles. Some went the Bridgerton route, others went more Victorian and still others were Art Nouveau. And as always, there were several that missed the mark entirely.
When it comes to the details, a lot of talented people are involved. There are hair, makeup and wardrobe stylists who help these models and celebrities get ready for the Gala. I wish I knew all their names so I could credit them properly, but I don’t. Sometimes you can find them credited on the Instagram accounts of the model or celebrity.
We hope you enjoyed the close-up look at some of the more artistic details at the 2022 Met Gala. To see all the red carpet outfits in full, visit our 2022 Met Gala Pinterest board
