Yoshitomo Nara’s Doggy Radio is a collectible piece of functioning art. While it’s immediately recognizable as one of the Japanese Pop artist’s sculptures, it’s also an FM radio and stereo with a Yamaha speaker system, featuring Bluetooth wireless, USB, and auxiliary sound input.

Nara is known for his cartoonish doodle-like drawings, paintings and sculptures of children and animals. Many of Nara’s works feature this adorable white pup with the red nose. He even wrote a children’s book featuring the iconic image, The Lonesome Puppy.
Several pieces by Nara feature this familiar canine. The ‘Doggy’ or ‘Pup’ can be found in much of his work, from giant public installations to paintings, toys, books and sculptures, as shown below.

Touch the doggy’s chin to turn it on/off and the nose illuminates. Turn the nose to tune FM radio stations, and control the volume by petting the doggy’s chin up or down.
