Designer Charlotte Olympia re-interprets her Dolly shoe by taking inspiration from the great painters of the Twentieth century for Neiman Marcus and Art Basel Miami. Charlotte Olympia hired British artist, photography and body art painter Boyarde Messenger to reinterpret the works of Pablo Picasso, Howard Hodgkin, Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein and Piet Mondrian on her signature Dolly Pumps. Boyarde hand-painted 100 pairs for the Neiman Marcus Charlotte Olympia project. (more…)

There’s something about Mark Bradley-Shoup’s work that I find really appealing and it’s no wonder. His representational works on paper, abstract paintings and mixed media works each have elements that remind me of four of my favorites artists; Richard Diebenkorn’s landscapes and abstracts, Ed Ruscha’s Standard Oil gas station studies and prints, Wayne Thiebaud’s composition and painterly style and Robert Rauschenberg’s collages. Poison On A Stick. Gangredine Consumptus by Rotganzen.

Gangredine Consumptus, a project by a Rotterdam based artist collective Rotganzen, is a commentary on all the toxins and chemicals we put into our bodies. The words of such lethal poisons as radon, arsenic, benzene and tobacco are cast in translucent colored resin and placed upon wooden sticks so they resemble lollipops (or suckers or lollies, depending upon your country of origin).
