Each year, as we get closer to Halloween, several artists and illustrators who favor the horror genre get some attention. There’s no shortage of talented folks who like to create carnivorous, cannabalistic, teeth-gnashing, zombie-like characters and Dennis Carlsson Horror Art is yet another good one.
Dennis Carlsson Horror Art
If his name sounds familiar perhaps you saw that Bored Panda recently featured his zombified versions of Disney characters and other ordinarily cute and cuddly icons turned evil.
But it’s the Swedish tattoo artist’s other monster and creature illustrations that I find eerily beautiful and frighteningly grotesque. Digitally created, his paintings are highly detailed, beautifully lit executions of things that go bump in the night.
Here’s a look at several of my personal favorites.
Classic Movie Monsters like Frankenstein, The Wolfman and Nosferatu are beautifully rendered.
He has turn on-screen horror heroes into even scarier versions.. Get a load of his Leatherface, Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees and Pennywise.
The Swedish tattoo artist loves to paint (he has a speedpainting channel here on youtube) and horror is one of his favorite genres.
I wouldn’t share these with your kids. Unless, of course, you’re trying to scare the bejeezus out of them.
