I don’t often post about weddings. Rarely does the event or gown warrant the ink. But this one does. That’s because Angelina Jolie-Pitt’s unusual wedding gown and veil were adorned with her children’s drawings.
Angelina Jolie-Pitt’s Wedding Gown and Veil
Hello! and People Magazines both revealed a first look at Angelina Jolie’s gown on their covers this week which gave us a glimpse of the wedding dress and veil:
And Elle Magazine shared a sketch from Donatella Versace of the gown:
The ivory silk gown with a ruched bodice with a full A-line skirt was designed by Luigi Massi, the master tailor at Atelier Versace, who has created several red carpet dresses for Angelina in the past. The simple silhouette and unadorned bodice helped to show off the innovative and heart-warming veil and gown’s train, both of which were decorated with embroidered versions of her children’s artwork.
Jolie told ELLE earlier this summer, “I tell you, the kids are so excited about the wedding…they like the idea of Mommy and Daddy getting married.” Jolie added that the wedding would be an “unusual situation” with “all eight of us getting married.”
According to People the children helped their parents write their vows. Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked mom down the aisle; Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, served as flower girls (they threw petals from the garden); Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, were the ring bearers; and Pax baked the cake.
