Just last month, Las Piedras in Punte del Este, the first international property from the Fasano Luxury Hotels, opened in Uruguay. The hip and hedonistic resort is already booked solid and chances are you won’t get it at all this year, but there’s always next year.
Fasano Punta Del Este
The resort, which combines a new hotel, 20 modern bungalows a spa and restaurants, was designed by architect and filmmaker Isay Weinfeld. Spread across a vast 1,185-acre parcel, it gently slopes down towards the ocean and Maldonado riverbed.
Located on the southern tip of Uruguay, the luxury resort Fasano Punta Del Este seems almost carved out of the majestic and wild landscape itself.
An intimate grouping of 20 Deluxe Bungalows and 12 Suite Bungalows designed by architect Isay Weinfeld all offer views of the surrounding nature, HD TV, 300 thread count bedding, and a mini-bar.
Weinfeld’s 205 newly built residences are a tasteful addition to the incredible landscape, beautiful modern structures that use local stone and rich-hued indigenous woods. Unless you’ve purchased one of these elegant homes, or are seriously connected, chances are slim that you’ll be able to secure a reservation this year. The eagerly awaited resort has been booked solid since the restaurant’s soft opening last season.
The main restaurant, Fasano, was built in an old farmhouse and serves Italian fare. Las Piedras is a casual all-day eatery and the pool bar mixes up the good kind of trouble.
The restaurants and bar:
The outdoor pool is surrounded by large natural stone and verdant green grasslands and they have a luxurious gym and spa as well.
