A few years back I introduced you to Judith G. Klausner, an artist who carved the cream centers of Nabisco Oreos into the likenesses of traditional cameos. Now, there’s Tisha Cherry, another talented food artist who has upped the Oreo ante by using their colored cream centers to both recreate well known artworks and make some of her own.
While several blogs like The Thrillist and High Snobiety have featured Tisha’s other food art, it’s her Oreo creme art that really impresses me. Tisha uses both the Golden and the traditional Oreo cookies as canvases for her colored cream creations. The colored cremes are from various novelty and limited edition flavored Oreos (such as pumpkin, peanut butter, strawberry, mint, etc.).
Her recreations of fine art by Van Gogh, Matisse, Magritte, Munch, Murakami, Frida Kahlo and Grant Wood made with a toothpick and the sugary creme completely blow me away.
