This series of photographs, Triumph of Form, by Russian creative duo Yakovlev and Aleeva were inspired by the Art Deco paintings of Polish artist Tamara de Lempicka.

In the series photographer Andrey Yakovlev and Art Director Lili Aleeva impressively emulate one art medium in another.
Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka is best known for her highly stylized Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy in the 1920s and 30s. You’ve most likely seen books, posters and reproductions of the well-known artist‘s work.
The artist’s original paintings are highly stylized, grown out of cubism and monumentalism, two art genres popular in the early 1900s. The smooth, suede-like skin, angular planes, flowing drapery and rich jewel-tones of her work are expertly captured in the Triumph of Form photo series by Andrey Yakovlev and Lili Aleeva, whose stunning photos for Wella Professional Hair Care we featured here.
The creative duo managed to emulate the painterly effects and subject’s expressions of Lempicka’s works with their photographs, which were created for Russian clothing stores Leonardo and Picasso.
