The 2021 coveted distinction for young fashion designers, The LVMH Prize, has narrowed it down to 9 finalists. These 9 were chosen from twenty young designers selected among the 1,900 global candidates who presented their collections on the digital platform lvmhprize.com. The committee of Experts of the Prize and, for the first time, the public, selected these 9 brands for the final.

Meet the future of fashion. Nine talented up and coming young fashion designers/brands have been honored as finalists for the 2021 LVMH Prize.

Driven by a “passion for creativity”, LVMH launched the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2013. This patronage embodies the commitment of the Group and its Houses towards today’s young designers who will be tomorrow’s rising stars.

Each year, the LVMH Prize rewards young fashion designers, selected for their talent and outstanding creativity. Thanks to the mentorship and the endowment enjoyed by the winners, the LVMH Prize enables the emergence of a new generation of designers.

Because both its roots and its future are intimately linked to creativity, LVMH and its brands have always actively nourished creative talent.

These 9 designers will present their creations to the Jury on the occasion of the final which will be held in September at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, on a date to be announced later. The Jury of the LVMH Prize will choose the winners of the LVMH Prize and of the Karl Lagerfeld / Special Jury Prize among the finalists.

Delphine Arnault declares: “The all-digital semi-final this year, in the context of the health crisis, was a new opportunity to showcase the work of the designers. I would like to salute their creativity, optimism and reactivity, and congratulate them all. I would like to thank the 66 Experts for their involvement, as well as the public, who for the first time took part in the semi-final: 32,000 people voted for their favourite candidate! This year, 9 designers (including 2 equally ranked semi-finalists) will go on to compete in the final of the LVMH Prize. The finalists come from China, France, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States and, for the first time, from Albania and Colombia. I particularly appreciated their great know-how and their strong environmental awareness. All the members of the Jury and I look forward to welcoming them for the final in September at the Louis Vuitton Foundation.”

The Jury auditions the finalists and picks the 2 winners. The names of 3 young fashion graduates chosen to join the design studios of LVMH Houses are also revealed during the final.

The winners of the LVMH Prize enjoy a one-year mentorship tailored to their needs. Dedicated LVMH teams mentor the winners in numerous fields such as sustainable development, communication, copyright and corporate legal aspects, as well as marketing and the financial management of a brand.

This mentorship represents a unique and valuable opportunity for these young designers to be mentored by real experts and to thus combine creativity and commercial success.
