We are true fans of all the graphics and design for every single Wes Anderson movie so far and The French Dispatcher character posters, just unveiled yesterday for the movie’s upcoming release, do not disappoint.

The French Dispatch Character Posters

Opening in theaters on October 22, after a delay due to Covid, The French Dispatch is described as “A love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional twentieth century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in “The French Dispatch Magazine”. An hour and 43 minute romantic comedy directed by Wes Anderson, the upcoming movie stars many of Anderson’s beloved regulars.

The twelve posters are beautifully designed with photographs of the actors in character, each against a different graphic background designed to reflect part of that character’s narrative. We recently learned, thanks to Karen Knecht of konnectDesign,  that these are the work of the very talented Erica Dorn

Bill Murray as Arthur Howitzer, Jr.
Tilda Swinton as J.K.L. Berenson
Timothée Chalamet as Zeffirelli
Lina Khoudri as Juliette
Frances McDormand as Lucinda Krementz
Owen Wilson as Herbsaint Sazerac
Benicio del Toro as Moses Rosenthal
Léa Seydoux as Simone
Adrien Brody as Julien Cadazio
Jeffrey Wright as Roebuck Wright
Mathieu Almaric as Commissaire de la Police Municipale
Stephen Park as Lieutenant Lescaffier

The movie appears to be told as a series of vignettes, each dedicated to one of the characters.

What can we say? We are looking forward to every single perfectly composed frame of it.
