Ah, a cabin in the woods.Tom’s Hut by Raumhochrosen Studio is a timber prefabricated cabin designed by Heike Schlauch and Robert Fabach in the woods of lower Austria, atop the ruins of an old structure.
Tom’s Hut by Raumhochrosen
Named for the client, Tom’s Hut is located in Wienerwald, a wooded area in Austria.
The house was designed to relate to its surroundings and follows the contour of the previous decaying building.
Designed specifically to accommodate the passions of its inhabitant- a songwriter and mental coach – the cabin has two levels and can be closed off from its environment with wooden bars.
When open, it provides windows to various views.
The brick you see in the photos was leftover from the original building.
The angular all wooden structure with pitched roof and loft was prefabricated with everything one needs in a confined space.
As a private retreat it offers sanctuary to Tom so he can play music, write songs and find balance in his life.
The cabin was constructed by Meiberger Holzbau who specialize in the building of wood houses
