Sunne Light Uses Solar Energy To Let The Sunshine In.

sunne light

Solar power is a science and designer Marjan van Aubel has turned it into a thing of beauty. A suspended window light that brings the glow of a sunset, sunlight or sunrise into your home by harvesting the sun’s energy during the day.

harvesting solar energy

A modern solar-powered light for your window, Sunne, harvests energy by day to light your home at night. Created by award-winning solar designer Marjan van Aubel, the attractive looking modern light raised its funding on Kickstarter and in August 2023, Sunne was recently acquired by the Vitra Design Museum. Quite a coup.

Sunne is a self-powered solar light that captures, stores and produces light indoors. By day, it harvests energy from the sun while it hangs by your window; at night, it brings sunlight into your home.

‘My view on solar energy is that it needs an update,’ van Aubel told Wallpaper magazine. ‘I think that in the future all products should generate their own energy, and as designers it is our responsibility to build products or buildings for this future. My mission is to make this energy accessible for everyone, everywhere.

Hang Sunne in front of your window and it will naturally harvest energy from the sun and store it in its integrated battery. As the evening gets darker, Sunne’s light will start to glow.
