Mondriaan Table by Patrick Beyaert Combines Origami & Color.

Mondriaan Table by Patrick Beyaert

I have long been a fan of Piet Mondrian and the many unusual items inspired by his famous color block compositions, as you can tell from my Mondrian Madness board on Pinterest. Now, this new outdoor table by Patrick Beyaert of Belgium, is one to add to my collection to covet.

Inspired by the works of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, this elegant and bold side table by Patrick Beyaert of Formz is also a work of art. The black lines are the natural result of folding the sandwiched aluminum composite.

Reversing the folding process is the more subtle solid white version where light and shadow define the angular folds, more reminiscent of origami. The black fold lines will appear on the underside in this version.

All corner edges have been rounded so there are no sharp edges and the aluminum at the sides is lightly supple.  The black steel base legs perfectly compliment the geometric forms and provide a solid base for the top.

Each table is hand made and so may be customized with various colors or left in simple black and white.
