Breathtakingly Beautiful Custom Wood Toy Chest
This custom wood toy chest measures 52″W x 28″D x 32″H (1320 x 711 x 813mm) and has a hinged lid.
The wood carved and embellished toy chest has been japanned, a type of finish that originated as a European imitation of East Asian lacquerwork.
The narratives covering the toy chest are beautifully detailed and include so many animals! Swallows, bluejays, bobcats, bears, fox, geese, boar, chipmunks, skunks, squirrels, possum, deer, a stag, a heron, an owl, a pan-flute playing raccoon and even a bat.
The feet are made of beautiful little bronze cast toadstools.
