Previously known as Kennedy Nöel, this Nashville-based artist has given herself the moniker Krigarè (Swedish for Warrior) and deservedly so, having battled and survived two forms of cancer (thyroid and melanoma) by the age of 18.

Born and raised in the Los Angeles music business, she relocated to Nashville, where she presently resides. At the young age of 16, she first played backing piano during Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You” performance at the 2006 Grammy Awards. Since breaking in to Nashville’s pop/rock music scene, she has performed at the 2016 National NACA Conference, Evolution Music Festival, and pre-show events for One Direction, The Fray and Kelly Clarkson.
In her release EP titled “KRIGARÈ“, Krigarè tells her compelling stories “My life has been full of battles these last two years. It has been by far the most challenging years not only as a person, but also as an artist. I’ve had to find my voice again, and decide on who I am coming out of trying times. I am a WARRIOR!”
But it was her compelling cover version of the song for Dr. Seuss’ animated “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” that caught my attention.
Now, we’ve already shared with you several parody versions of the song as they relate to President Trump, but this time it’s not a parody, but a melodic version.
The original lyrics for the song were written by Theodore Guisel (aka Dr. Seuss) with music composed by Albert Hague. The song was performed by Thurl Ravenscroft and the MGM Studio Orchestra in the 1966 animated film. The song’s lyrics describe the Grinch as being foul, bad-mannered and sinister using increasingly creative metaphors and synonyms, beginning with the opening line “you’re a mean one, Mister Grinch.”
Krigaré’s melancholy but mellifluous version has captivated me. Once available on iTunes and Spotify, I can no longer find it anywhere except in this one old facebook video, so I wanted to share it with you.
When Krigarè is not out playing live, you can hear her music on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and many other world wide outlets, and in over 10,000 retail stores located in all 50 states, and on over 75 radio stations around the world.
