Citroën Celebrates 100 Years

Today’s blog post is a treat from my fellow car lover, writer and photographer Lyn Woodward. Lyn got a sneak peek at the upcoming exhibit, “Citroën: The Man, The Marque, The Mystique” at Oxnard’s Mullin Automotive Museum. There she took some great photos and garnered some information, both of which she has generously shared with If It’s Hip, It’s Here.

Citroën Celebrates 100 Years

French car manufacturer Citroën will mark its 100-year anniversary in 2019. To celebrate this milestone of an extraordinary French car manufacturer, The Mullin Automotive Museum is displaying 46 of the quirky automaker’s vehicles, including a number of vehicles bodied by French coachbuilder Chapron, a rare twin-engined 2CV Sahara, a Traction Avant Cabriolet and an iconic HY Van.

And thanks to Lyn, we have tons of photos of the exhibit prior to its opening to the public.

Visitors can also expect to see modern Citroëns such as the 2007 C6 and the 2009 C3 Pluriel as well as several late production model 2CVs dating from the 1980s and early 1990s, none of which were ever sold in the U.S. With a storied history of both technical and design innovation, this exhibit is a “must see” for any car enthusiast.
