While the winners of Sunday night’s 2024 Oscars ceremony were not a surprise given that they fell in line with most of this season’s award shows, some of the red carpet fashions were. A great year for movies, but, as is always the case, not necessarily a great night for every nominee when it comes to their choice of couture. Many liked the grecian-style gown and butterfly sleeves worn by Halee Steinfeld. We just didn’t love her blooming nipples.

MISTAKE

Call it an error in judgement or simply a fashion misstep, but the following dresses need to be bagged and buried.

The following attempts at uniqueness or as a nod to other performances just plain didn’t work. Out of context, or seen merely on the red carpet, these fashion faux pas are unflattering, unappealing and in some cases, unbelievably unattractive.

Once we heard that Cythia Errivo’s Green Leather Godzilla outfit and Ariana Grande’s pale pink Colostomy bag dress were nods to their roles in Wicked, we forgave them. A little.
