Accessories designer and prop stylist Fred Butler just showed her latest collection at London Fashion Week. Crazy and colorful, it pushes the envelope with fashions and accessories I’d never consider wearing, but might make great props and styling for an editorial or event. Delectably Disturbing 2012 Fall Menswear Collection From Walter Van Beirendonck.

The Fall/ Winter 2012/13 collection of menswear from Belgium fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck, Lust Never Sleeps, is a bizarre blend of Friday The 13th’s Jason, A Clockwork Orange’s Droogs and the artwork of Ellsworth Kelly. And like a car wreck, it’s virtually impossible to look away. Don’t get me wrong, the collection is far from a tragic accident. Impeccably crafted and finely tailored, the bizarre pieces are made with very high quality materials and the overall look is imaginative, if not artful. (more…)

Home Decor For The Body – Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011 Collection

Athens born designer Mary Katrantzou, whose first collection I previously shared with you here has ‘decorated’ the female form with her stunning Spring 2011 RTW collection [ all the pieces of which are shown later in the post]. Caning as ruffles, lampshade-like skirts, trains reminiscent of curtains, candelabras as jewelry and textiles printed with photos from ’60s and ’70s issues of Architectural Digest have turned her fashions into wearable home decor. A Little Cancan, A Little Punk, A Lotta Gaultier – The 2011 Haute Couture Gowns [UPDATED]

The hair was punk, the look was “ooh la la” and one of the beautiful models walking down the runway was actually male. As Sid Vicious’s version of “My Way” played, Jean Paul Gaultier introduced his Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture Collection to Paris last week and the general consensus is a resounding leg kick.
