There’s a new Pop-Up Dior store at Holt Renfrew, Vancouver’s Skybridge that was created in collaboration with American Artist Kenny Scharf to promote Dior’s Fall 2021 Men’s Collection.
Kenny Scharf Dior Pop-Up Store
From May 7- 30th you can visit the Skybridge at Holt Renfrew (which has hosted many a “Pop up” from a
Prada Café to Virgil Abloh’s Off-White collection) and find yourself in a hypersurreal, futuristic pop-art environment filled with giant sculptures and cosmic carpeting.
The store is selling the Fall 2021 Men’s collection designed by Dior Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones in collaboration with Scharf, which first debuted online in December 2020 in a hypercolored, hyperreal virtual show.
The collection combines Dior heritage with innovation, mixing revisited tailoring silhouettes and the acid-hued palette and inimitable characters of American artist Kenny Scharf.
You’ll find the artist’s fun cosmic imagery on everything from sneakers to jackets. The collection also includes jewelry, blankets, bags and exotic wood, silk embroidered fans like the one shown above.
In addition to the collection itself, Dior’s 2021 Men’s advertising campaign and the Pop-up Dior Men’s store both feature artist Kenny Scharf’s colorful art.
About the artist:
Kenny Scharf, born 1958, is a painter and installation artist best known for work inspired by comic books and pop culture. Born in Los Angeles, CA, he studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and became part of the East Village art scene during the 1980s.
Scharf’s work features aliens and retro cartoon characters often set in post-apocalyptic scenes. Scharf cuts through any ominous elements with his expressive characters and bright color palettes.
