You may recall that I posted about the 100% natural, handcrafted wood watches from JORD a ways back. Since then, they’ve stepped up their game and added newer, nicer and cooler watch designs to their collection. Several new styles and sizes for men and women have recently been added to JORD’s line, including automatic watches! In addition to their Sully, Ely, Fieldcrest, Delmar and 94A models (all shown in my first post), they now have more complicated, dressier and sportier options. Adding some automatic models (no battery needed, self-winding mechanical) puts them in a league with other higher end watch manufacturers.
The Review
JORD kindly sent me one of their new watches to review: the Cora Koa and Rose Gold watch shown below.
The women’s Cora adds some sparkle to the line with Swarovski Crystal markers. It’s the perfect amount of subtle bling – enough to make the watch feel special without making it so fancy that you can’t wear it walking the dog.
The bracelet is crafted of Koa wood which comes from Hawaii and has a warm, golden reddish hue with visible grain.
The watch is a self-winding automatic with a 21 jewel movement and a power reserve of 36 hours. It has a sweep secondhand and is absolutely silent (ticking watches drive me nuts!). Setting the watch is very simple and detailed instructions come with it.
The 37mm size is a nice size – large enough to be trendy, but small enough to fit my wrist without looking ridiculous.
An automatic (no battery needed), it has a small window in the face that lets you peek into the skeletal workings and an open back in which you can see the 21 jewel movement.
It came in a very nice wood box, complete with a drawer in the bottom to hold extra links and a polishing cloth.
Like all their watches, it has a deployment buckle and because you send your wrist measurements to them, the fit is perfect.
I’ve worn the watch non-stop for a month now. It’s kept perfect time and has had no problems. Despite washing dishes with it on, there’s been no visible wear to the face finish or wood link bracelet. Suffice it to say, I’m very happy with the watch and have no hesitations in recommending it.

They’ve also added the Frankie Series, in two sizes: a smaller (35 mm) and a nice large (45mm). Available in several great wood and color face combinations, it has a minimal style with line markers and a single roman numeral at the top. The Frankie has a Swiss Quartz Movement.
The Sawyer is a real beauty and the costliest in the collection at $395. An automatic chronograph with date and 26 jewel multi-function movement with power reserve in three fabulous options.
The Dover is a great addition. It’s also an automatic (no battery needed) with a skeletal face and raised arabic numbers in three various combinations.
