A pool filled with sprinkles, an ice cream scoop see-saw, melting benches, sugarcone-covered walls and ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream. A veritable playground of color and sugar has popped up for the month of August in the form of the Museum of Ice Cream.
Inside The Museum Of Ice Cream
For 31 days in New York the true ice cream lover can get their fill of licking, looking and loving. The Museum of Ice Cream, a lifelong fantasy of 24 yr old co-founder Maryellis Bunna, is a month long pop-up designed to be a 20 minute experience – without any vegan, egg free, certified gluten-free or Kosher items… the way Ice Cream was meant to be.
Located in the heart of the Meatpacking District at 100 Gansevoort Street throughout the month of August, the Willy Wonka-esque museum is welcoming guests six days a week to enjoy a sweet escape from the summer heat.
Curated by a collective of ice cream obsessed designers, artists, and friends, it resembles a toyland for the sugar-obsessed.
The Museum’s interactive highlights include a 3 foot deep pool filled with rainbow sprinkles, edible balloons, an immersive chocolate room and a collaborative massive ice cream sundae.
Visitors can swing on an ice cream sandwich made for two, seesaw on an ice cream scoop and even find their match flavor on a custom app in Tinder Land.
Thanks to terrific photos posted by the Museum of Ice Cream and visitors on instagram tagged #MOIC, I can give you a good look at the interior design and experience. Although nothing can beat visiting in person.
