In response to the recent murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police, artist Jammie Holmes initiated a potent public demonstration that extended across 5 cities. On Saturday, May 30 between the hours of 11:30 am and 9pm Eastern time, Airplanes with banners presenting Floyd’s final words flew above Detroit, Miami, Dallas, LA and NY connecting these places across the U.S. in a national protest supporting Minneapolis against police brutality within the African American community.⁠⠀ (more…)

Giant Pink Bunny Knit by Grannies Left to Rot On Italian Hillside

Okay, so maybe that’s a crass way of referring to the unusual art installation, but it’s accurate. “Hase” (also referred to as Rabbit or Colletto Fava) is a 200 foot long by 20 foot tall knit pink rabbit that was placed in the Italian Alps by the Australian Art Collective Gelitin. The giant pink art piece was laid to rest upon a hilltop in 2005 and left there so its decay could be documented. (more…)

Order of Importance, a Sand Sculpture Installation by Leandro Erlich

Order of Importance by artist Leandro Erlich opened at Art Basel Miami earlier this week. Commissioned by the City of Miami Beach and curated by Ximena Caminos with the collaboration of Brandi Reddick, the art installation will remain through the 15th December on the beach next to Lincoln Road and close to Collins Park.
