This pill-shaped, space-age looking capsule designed by Slovakia’s Nice Architects is one darn little efficient design. Comfortably accommodating two adults, the low-energy pod is outfitted to include a running-water kitchenette, flushing toilet and warm bed.

With all the essentials necessary for a comfortable prolonged stay without a need to recharge or re-supply, it’s powered by a built-in 750W wind turbine complemented with an array of 2.6m2 of high-efficiency solar cells.

This dual power system and a high-capacity battery ensures enough power during periods of reduced solar or wind activity. An energy system that can support you almost an entire year in many off-grid locations.

Packed into a compact form, the Ecocapsule fuses an energy efficient shape, small size and off-grid capabilities with an efficient interior layout that includes storage space for sport or research equipment.

The exterior spherical shape is optimized for the collection of rainwater and dew and the built-in water filters allow you to utilize any water source.

With its worldwide portability and flexibility it is suitable for a wide range of applications: from an independent research station or a tourist lodge to an emergency housing or a humanitarian-action unit.

Ecocapsule fits into a standard shipping container and no special preparations and precautions are necessary to transport Ecocapsule worldwide. It can be shipped, airlifted, towed or even pulled by a pack animal.
