Auction house Sotheby’s is presently offering the only privately owned collection of every single Supreme skate deck that has ever been made. With 2 weeks left to bid, the online-only sale, with a reserve of $500,000, is billed as “20 Years of Supreme.”
20 Years Of Supreme Skate Decks
Established in 1994, Supreme began as a skateboarding and fashion shop in downtown NYC and quickly grew into a global brand. Supreme started producing their own skateboards in 1998 and have collaborated with many well-known brands over the last 20 years – most famously with Louis Vuitton. Supreme is also known for their artist collaborations, featuring the likes of George Condo, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Richard Prince, KAWS, Marilyn Minter, Nate Lowman, and Takashi Murakami, among others.
The archive is being offered as a single lot and will be sold with no Buyer’s Premium. It is estimated to sell for somewhere between $800,000 and $1,200,000. This online-only sale is open for bidding through January 25th, and will be on exhibition in Sotheby’s New York City galleries until January 20th.
